The Hotel Steinbock is a "chalet-style" 3-star hotel with 20 rooms. It is the oldest hotel in Grindelwald and was originally built more than 300 years ago. The entire hotel has been completely rebuilt in 1992 and is still offering a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. The Hotel Steinbock is centrally located within approx. 10 minutes walking distance to the railway station and close to the shopping street and several public facilities such as the sports center with indoor swimming pool, and ice skating rink (free entrance). The Hotel Steinbock is next to the "First" gondola station, thus ideal for skiers and the bus for transfers to the railway station and the other ski areas stops right in front of the hotel. The hotel facilities include the very popular restaurant "Pizzeria da Salvi" which is well known for its Italian cuisine and grilled chickens, and for Swiss specialties. There is also a breakfast room and the "Grappa Bar" offering more than 100 different Grappas.

Description of Double Standard Room
All rooms have been completely renewed in 1992 and are continuously being renovated. The rooms are large with a feature a wooden décor. All bathrooms have a bathtub including a shower (some with shower only) and a hair-dryer. All rooms have 2 Twin Beds (pushed together) or a double bed (queen size) and are equipped with cable TV, direct dial-in/dial-out phone and a safe.

Description of all other Rooms:
Single Standard: Smaller Room for one person, bathroom with shower only

Double Superior: Larger room, ideal for families with up to 4 people

Active people find the location of the Hotel Steinbock very attractive. Next to First gondola station (skiing area in winter, hiking paradise in summer). A typical Swiss hotel that offers excellent wood stove Pizza and chicken from a wood grill. Family operated.

Directions on how to get there
By public transportation:
Take a train from Interlaken-Ost to Grindelwald; from the Grindelwald Railway Station either take a taxi or the Hotel Shuttle (has to be ordered before arrival and hotel has to be informed regarding arrival time).If you prefer walking (approx. 10 minutes) then walk along the main road towards the other end of the village where the Hotel Steinbock is located to your left (next to the “First” Gondola Station and opposite the Hotel Sunstar).

By car:
After reaching the entrance of Grindelwald, drive on the main road through the village. The Hotel Steinbock is located towards the end of the village on the left side (next to the “First” Gondola Station and opposite the Hotel Sunstar).
