The Hotel du Nord is an intimate 4 star hotel with modern first class comfort - an oasis of hospitality in a traditional house with a personal, family atmosphere. This charming hotel has been managed by the family Engel for 5 generations and represents the oldest family business in Interlaken (since 1847). Guests enjoy a splendid view of the well-maintained hotel garden, the castle's park and both churches, as well as the world-famous "Jungfrau". The Hotel du Nord is centrally located within approx. 5 minutes walking distance to the town center, to the "Interlaken Ost" railway station, and to the landing stage for Lake Brienz cruises. The facilities at the Hotel du Nord include a gourmet restaurant with terrace for international and regional specialties, the "Old Fashion Pub" bar where locals and visitors meet, and the heart of the Hotel du Nord: the "Cave du Nord", Interlaken's oldest wine cellar - an unusual venue for a wine-tasting session or an aperitif with the hotel owners. Description of Double Standard Room
All rooms have recently been renovated and are spacious. They face north (street) and have a view of the famous "Hoeheweg" (without balcony). Bathrooms have a tub including a shower (some with shower only) and a hair-dryer. All rooms are equipped with cable TV, radio, direct dial-in/dial-out phone, Internet connection, mini-bar and mini-safe. The rooms at the Hotel du Nord feature 2 Twin Beds (separated or pushed together). Smoking / non-smoking rooms are available on request.

Description of all other Rooms:
Single Standard: smaller room with queen-size or smaller bed for 1 person

Double Deluxe: room facing South; with balcony with view of the Jungfrau mountain range and the hotel garden; all bathrooms with bathtub including shower; non smoking rooms available on request

Junior Suite: larger room (corner unit) with separate sitting corner; with balconies facing South (Jungfrau view) and West (Hoehematte / Interlaken); bathroom with round bathtub incl. shower; 2 queen-size beds pushed together; special decoration (different colors); stereo CD equipment and other extras; non-smoking rooms only.

Family Room:larger Standard Room facing North with extra permanent bed(s) and/or sofa-sleeper; ideal for families with children

The Hotel Du Nord has a long family tradition. The “Engel Family” family has managed the hotel since 1847! This hotel also features a gourmet restaurant that has received 13 Gault Millau stars and Interlaken’s oldest wine cellar.

By public transportation:
From "Interlaken Ost" railway station, walk approx. 5 minutes towards center, approx. 200 meters after the Japanese Garden, the Hotel du Nord is located to your left (at the intersection; in front of the "Hoehematte" meadow); or take taxi or bus from either "Interlaken West" or "Interlaken Ost" railway station - Exit "Casino / Kursaal".

By Car:
Coming from the East (Brienz), take Exit "Interlaken Ost" - follow signs direction "Interlaken Ost" railway station, then direction center on "Hoeheweg", turn left on 2nd large intersection, the Hotel du Nord is located right in the corner at this intersection (no further buildings on the left side of Hoeheweg - just the "Hoehematte" meadow...); coming from the West (Thun, Spiez), take Exit "Interlaken West" - follow signs to "Interlaken West" railway station, then direction center, after passing the "Hoehematte" meadow to your right, the Hotel du Nord is located right in front of you at the intersection.
