Hotel Kernen, Gstaad
The Hotel Kernen is a charming chalet-style 3-star hotel with 22 rooms, located in Schoenried on a sunny plateau above Gstaad. The hotel is ideally situated for skiers and hikers providing quick access to the mountain rides, including the major ski-area of the Gstaad region. The facilities at the Hotel Kernen include the Restaurant “Bahnhof” with a large terrace, which is known for local specialties and international cuisine. The hotel also features a bar, a cozy lounge with an Internet corner, and a public wellness center with indoor swimming pool is nearby. The bus stop and the railway station for transfers to the village of Gstaad and other ski-areas are just in front of the Hotel Kernen.
Description of Double Standard Room:
All rooms at the Hotel Kernen have been completely renovated in a modern country-style with cozy wooden, but contemporary furniture. These rooms are facing north (without balcony) and the bathroom has a shower. All rooms are equipped with flat-screen Cable-TV, radio, direct dial-in and dial-out telephone, ventilator, safe and hair-dryer. These rooms are furnished with 2 twin-size beds (pushed together) and all rooms are non-smoking.
Description of all other Rooms:
Single Room: smaller room with bed for one person only, facing north
Double 1 Bed: smaller Double Room with one queen-size bed, facing north
Double Standard South: facing south with balcony and mountain-view
Double Corner: larger room facing south with balcony and mountain-view
Junior Suite: large room with sitting corner, facing north or south; ideal for families

 The Hotel Kernen is a chalet-hotel providing a cozy and relaxed atmosphere in the wooden but contemporary rooms, as well as at the hotel lounge and the restaurant. The Hotel Kernen has been family run for 100 years; it is ideally located for skiing (close to the major ski-area of the region) and for excursions (near railway station).

Directions on how to get there:
By Public Transportation:
After arrival at the Schoenried Railway Station, you will see the Hotel Kernen right in front of the railway station; walk across the parking lot and enter through the entrance to the “Ski Room” where you see the elevator which takes you to the front desk.
By Car:
- Coming on the Main Road from the east (Berne, Thun, Wimmis, Zweisimmen) you will see the Hotel Kernen on the left side of the street approx. 200 meters after the “Schoenried” sign at the village entrance.
- Coming on the Main Road from the west (Geneva, Lausanne, Montreux, Bulle, Gstaad, Saanen), after getting to Schoenried, drive through the village and after you reach the only intersection (street to the “Horneggli” chair lift to the right), you will see the Hotel Kernen in front of you on the right side of the street.
