The Hotel Antares is closed from from May 15 until June 2 and from October 10 until November 15, 2007!

The Hotel Antares is a traditional 4-star hotel with 36 rooms. It is located next to the Klein-Matterhorn-Schwarzsee Gondola station and approx. 6-8 minutes walking distance to the center of the village and the Railway Station. The bus station is also right next to the hotel and provides easy transfer to the center. The facilities at the Hotel Antares include: the Gourmet-Restaurant "Antares" for fine international, French and Italian cuisine with large sun-terrace, the hotel lounge with open fire and the "Sky-Club" Bar, the "English Bar" with nightly entertainment for cool drinks and late night snacks, and a new Spa withSauna, Sanarium, Steam-bath, Aroma-bath (on request Mud-baths), Adventure Shower, Jet Shower, 2 Jacuzzis and a Tepidarium, as well as facilities for massages and other treatments.

Description of Double Standard Room
The rooms at the Hotel Antares are nicely decorated with cherry wood furniture and balcony facing North with a view of the Mettelhorn mountain. The bathroom has a shower, bathrobes and hair-dryer. All rooms are equipped with cable TV, clock radio, phone, wire-less LAN, mini-bar and a safe. Most rooms feature 2 Twin Beds (separated or pushed together) and some rooms have one queen-size bed. Smoking / non-smoking rooms are available on request.

Description of all other Rooms:
Single Standard: smaller room for one person, with one bed

Double Superior: larger room with balcony facing South with view of the Matterhorn and/or the village; bathroom with bathtub incl. shower

Junior Suite: larger Double Room with sitting corner on top floor with balcony facing South with view of the Matterhorn; also ideal for families with children

The Hotel Antares is smaller hotel with a warm, family atmosphere. It is located right next to the station of the Matterhorn Gondola, which makes it ideal for skiing and hiking vacations.

Directions on how to get there
Public transportation:
Upon arriving at the Zermatt Railway Station look for the information booth and call the Hotel for shuttle service (from 7:30 AM to 6 PM at surcharge of CHF 4.00 per person); or take a public taxi (approx. CHF 15.00) or walk for approx. 15 minutes: first to your right along Main Street until you reach the church; then to your left in front of the church over the bridge; then to your right for approx. 500 meters where you find the Hotel Antares to your left (right before you reach the bottom station of the Schwarzsee Gondola).

By Car:
Drive to Taesch, from where you need to take the train to Zermatt. Then follow the instructions above (public transportation).
